Some observations from a friendship: I've been spending a lot of time with Matt lately.  Well really, its about the same that it had been since I really got to know him.  Until this year that is.  After we got back from Europe and I went off to school, I really almost completely lost contact with him.  Our relationship became more of a phone relationship, we spent very little time together in person, and really did'nt even talk on the phone that much.  And thats how it was pretty much this entire school year.  I was reminded of that because of a comment Matt made on our Sarasota trip.  We were talking about my new infatuation with Charity, and he made the comment how I didn't tell him about it, he found out from my brother.  Anyways, later I came up with a response which I'm gonna write out here just to organize my thoughts, although I really don't think I even need to say it to him.  Really I just need to let it go (which I think I have done...
Alright so I've been outta town for a few days.  I was in South Florida watchin some baseball games and on the way back I stopped in Gainesvegas to find a place to live next year.  I think im gonna be stayin in a house with some guys who I have yet to meet, but the rent is pretty good and I know they're all into the BSU so they're pretty good guys.  It even has a yard so maybe I can get a dog? I don't know i'll have to ask.... Also the Lord has enjoyed teasing me the past few months (at least I assume He enjoys it).  The girl I'm in love with who I thought had a bf some people tell me last week that she doesn't anymore.  So who should I run into in Sarasota but this chick?  We have a nice conversation and I spend the trip back plotting my next move.  Well I wasn't in Pcola for five minutes when i find out that nope, indeed she still does have a boyfriend.   Dang it, what to do, I just don't know.  So that's how the Lord has been toying w...
Well its a been a long time since I've updated, as I've been continually reminded.  So lets recap what I've been doing since I got home:  During the days I've been substitute teaching at my old middle school.  I've decided that middle school PE teacher is the best job ever, cause all you do is play sports with kids all day.  And let me tell you, middle schoolers make even me look at basketball.  Oh I've got a good story from one of my classroom sub days:  This girl kept gettin smart with me and was totally disrespectful.  Now normally I can tolerate a lot, I'm pretty easy going, but thats one thing that will make me real mad real quick.  So I tried to ignore it for a few minutes but she just kept on.  Finally she makes the comment (you gotta imagine the voice, total white trashy and stuff) "I'm on tell my mama that you got a attitude wit me."  Well I said " I don't know about your mother, but you can sure tell the dean."  And she ...
I'm at home now, in Pensacola, and its weird trying to grasp the fact that I am not just home for the summer.  Usually its not so bad leaving Starkville, cause I know that I'll be back, but this time, no.  I have my degree. That's it.  I wont be headed to Mississippi in the fall, I won't be able to call up friends randomly to go hit golf balls or play basketball, it will be an ordeal to get to football and basketball games.  It hasn't really sunk in yet, that I just drove home from school for the last time. At graduation today James Bagley spoke.  He's the guy who donated $25 million to the engineering dept. a couple years ago and now its named after him.  Anyways, his speech was good, he didnt make it thirty seconds before dissing all non-engineering majors.  He starts by saying, "When Dr. Lee asked me if I would speak, I told him no at first because I didn't know what I'd say to a group of engineers. <Long Pause> And the other . ...
I was sittin in church yesterday thinking about how in heaven if we're still gonna have free will or not.  Everything is supposed to perfect, including ourselves, but I wasn't quite sure how that would work. I mean, Adam and Eve were in paradise with everything perfect, and yet they still chose to sin, even when they were in the presence of God all the time.  So couldn't that happen to us in heaven to, I wondered? Cause that would definately not be cool.  But then Randy said something about how Martin Luther thought that really in this life, we don't have a choice between being good or evil, rather its a choice between degrees of evil.  That the whole original sin thing, where we are born into sin.  But I was thinking that we do have one choice in this life, and this life alone, and it is the only choice that matters.   And after death, the choice has already been made, either saying to God "Thy will be done" or God saying to you "Thy will be done...
